Now you can own these beautiful reproductions of classic Swing Era and Jazz Age artwork!
The Vintage Jazz Art store is dedicated to Jazz Fans, Vernacular Jazz Dancers, and Harlem Renaissance Aficionados with an appreciation for the beautiful artwork created in the Jazz Age and the Swing Era.
Our mission is to seek the rights to reproduce these works of art so that they and their artists may be remembered and revered as an important part of the early 20th Century. Research and tracking down the original works is a large part of the process. After we secure rights to reproduce a work, much effort is put into restoring the artwork and determining the best printing methods so that the reproductions of these long forgotten works will have the finest possible colors and detail. Now you can own your own beautiful reproductions of these iconic images.
The first work that we are proud to offer is by Miguel Covarrubias, an artist who lived for years in Harlem and fell in love with its culture. Its title is "The Lindy Hop," and depicts a number of couples dancing on the ballroom floor. The work was originally made as a lithograph in a national exhibition in 1936 and this is the first reproduction of the work as a commercially available print. It is available both as an Offset-Print Poster and as a Deluxe Giclee Art Print.
Additionally, a portion of every purchase benefits The Lindy Hopper's Fund of America, a nonprofit organization that helps the elder generation of Lindy Hoppers still alive today who danced at the Savoy Ballroom, on stage, and on film.
We have since added more items to the catalog, and we hope to offer many more wonderful works of art by other artists in the future. If you have any suggestions for other works of art you would like to see here, please contact us.
